Jean deposited a check for $625 and
$29.95 and used her debit card to pay for a purchase of $57.65. How has her account balance changed?

i don't know about the absolute value bars, but her account would change by adding $625 and $29.95 to her account balance, and then subtracting $57.65 by the charge of the debit.
