In order to do that successfully, you must have an idea what you're looking for. If you don't, then you must read the articles and decide what YOU THINK the effects of the trade routes were at that time.
We cannot do your thinking for you. Only you can do that. Once you come up with a thesis statement that gives your topic (pretty much written in the assignment above) and your position/stance about it, then you'll be able to decide on your main supporting points and start developing an outline and eventually write a paper.
