slope=5,passing through(4,2)

[y(2)]/[x(4)] = 5
(y+2)/(x+4)= 5
y+2 = 5x 20
y = 5x 22
What you just saw was using the point slope form in order to get the answer in to slopeintercept form (y=mx+b). M represents slope and b represents the y intercept (0,?). Slope is determined by dividing the rise or fall (vertical change) over the run (the horizontal change).
