I want to ask the pronounciation of the future simple.

je parlerai
tu parleras
il parlera
nous parlerons
vous parlerez
ils parleront

Is parlerai sounds the same as parlerez, parleras same as parlera, and parlerons same as parleront?? Cause the three pairs sounds the same to me.

"parlerai" and "parlerez" do not have the exact same pronunciation. The

"ai" and "ez" sound is somewhat different. The other two pairs sound pretty much the same.

Thank you for using the Jiskha Homework Help Forum.

je parlerai = zhuh par-luhr-ay (understand that trying to use English sounds to represent French sounds is NOT a good thing! The best is to have someone who speaks French say it for you. If they could put it on tape for you, better yet!)

tu parleras = too par-lehr-ah

il parlera = eel par-lehr-ah

nous parlerons = new par-lehr-ohns

vous parlerez = voo (rhymes with new) par-lehr-eh

ils parleront = eels par-lehr-ohnt

Anonymous was trying to tell you the sounds are different for the first two. Sort of like the letter A versus eh. Notice I say "sort of" so do try to get someone to pronounce them for you!

To determine the pronunciation of the future simple forms of the verb "parler" (to speak), let's break it down:

1. "Je parlerai" (I will speak): The pronunciation of "parlerai" is as follows: pahr-luh-ray. Pronounce the "par" like "pahr," the "le" like "luh," and the "rai" like "ray."

2. "Tu parleras" (You will speak): The pronunciation of "parleras" is as follows: pahr-luh-rah. Pronounce the "par" like "pahr," the "le" like "luh," and the "ras" like "rah."

3. "Il parlera" (He will speak): The pronunciation of "parlera" is as follows: pahr-luh-rah. Pronounce the "par" like "pahr," the "le" like "luh," and the "ra" like "rah."

4. "Nous parlerons" (We will speak): The pronunciation of "parlerons" is as follows: pahr-luh-ron. Pronounce the "par" like "pahr," the "le" like "luh," and the "rons" like "ron."

5. "Vous parlerez" (You will speak): The pronunciation of "parlerez" is as follows: pahr-luh-ray. Pronounce the "par" like "pahr," the "le" like "luh," and the "rez" like "ray."

6. "Ils parleront" (They will speak): The pronunciation of "parleront" is as follows: pahr-luh-ron. Pronounce the "par" like "pahr," the "le" like "luh," and the "ront" like "ron."

While "parlerai" and "parlerais" and "parleras" and "parlerait" differ slightly in pronunciation, the pairs "parlerai" and "parlerez," "parleras" and "parlera," and "parlerons" and "parleront" do indeed sound similar. The main difference lies in the final consonant sound, where "parlerai" and "parlerez" end with a soft "ay" sound, "parleras" and "parlera" end with a soft "ah" sound, and "parlerons" and "parleront" end with a soft "on" sound.

Remember, pronunciation can vary based on accents and speaking styles, so it's always helpful to listen to native speakers to get a better understanding of the sound.
