I bought a computer game for $20.00 off the original price. My rate of discount was 40%. What is the original price?

Look at it as 40% of what amount is $20.
Percent/100 = is/of
40/100 = 20/x
Multiply 20 by 100, then divide by 40
So, 2000 divided by 40 will give you your answer
