for my science fair project i am dropping a baseball from different heights and measuring its kinetic and potential energy. what would the independent and dependent variable be?

PE = f (h)

in fact m g h

the potential energy DEPENDS on the height (which you choose independently of the equation), as does the kinetic energy after falling a distance h.

I might be tempted to drop baseballs and beach balls and cotton candy to show that air friction is also part of the deal.
