I know this geometry question may be simple for some of you but it is hard for me. I use to be able to do this type of problem but I guess I forgot it over time. Im sure we all do. Any help on this question would help. Thanks in advance for whoever helps me. :-)
A line passes through the point (x,y) = (-4,3) and has a slope of -6. Write an equation for this line.
The form of the equation is y = mx + b, and since the slope (m) is -6, the equation must be
y = -6x + b
To solve for b, use the fact that y = 3 when x = -6.
3 = 24 + b; b = -21
Therefore
y = -6x -21
