Check this site for brief descriptions of the various legal classifications. Then you can decide which classifications fit this statute.

Two things:

1. Release that Caps Lock key; typing in all capital letters is considered rude; it's as if you're SHOUTING AT EVERYONE.

2. Be more specific in your question(s). You said here that you need more help. That's not specific. What help?

Dee -- You've received three or four websites that we think may help you -- and advice from three volunteer Jiskha teachers. Now it's your turn. Which classifications do you think apply to this statute?

Still searching, thank you for your help

sorry for all the post

I see that this was posted over 4 years ago. But it's too bad no one was able to actually do anything helpful on this post, as I have the same question on an assignment.

To describe the given statute in terms of all possible classification methods, we need to analyze the different aspects and criteria of the law. Classification methods can vary, but in this case, we can consider these methods:

1. Subject matter classification: This method focuses on the subject matter of the statute. In this case, the subject matter is smoking on premises. The law mandates that all employers must prohibit smoking on their premises, indicating that the statute falls under the subject matter classification of smoking regulations.

2. Objective classification: This method looks at the purpose or objective of the statute. Here, the objective is to prohibit smoking on the premises of all employers. The goal is to create a smoke-free workplace and protect the health of employees, clients, and customers. Therefore, the objective classification would identify this statute as a workplace health protection law.

3. Territorial classification: This method classifies statutes based on geographical jurisdiction or coverage. Since the law states that it is a state law, it applies to all employers within the jurisdiction of that particular state. So, the territorial classification of this statute would be at the state level.

4. Scope classification: This method considers the scope of the statute in terms of individuals or groups affected by it. Here, the statute applies to "all employers." This designation covers both private and public employers without any specific exclusions. Moreover, the statute also mentions both employees and clients/customers, ensuring a broader scope of individuals affected. Therefore, the scope classification of this statute would include all employers and individuals within the premises.

By using these classification methods, you can describe the statute in different dimensions and understand its applicability and impact more comprehensively.
