How could you determine the genotype of an individual through breeding?
You have to be careful to record all the family: brothers, sisters, parents, uncles, aunts, grandparents, etc.
Watch for recessive phenotypes appearing. Only when recessives appear are they known. Genotypes cannot be known by looking at an animal.
