FIND THE SLOPE AND Y INTERCEPT

PLEAZE EXPLAIN.THANKS.
1)8X-4Y=64 2)Y= 3/4-8

HELP!!!!!! i have a huge test on circles radius , circumference , diameter.

Also Equivalent Fractions and Comparing and ordering fractions.

I always put the equation in the slope y-intercept form when I worked on these equations... some other people prefer other forms, which also works. However, I'll just show you my way since I know it best.

So the form we want to translate to looks like this:

y = m*x + b Where m = slope, b = y-intercept.

8x - 4y = 64
-8x -8x "Subtract 8x on both sides"
- 4y = -8x + 64 "Divide -4 on both sides"
y = (-8x)/(-4) + (64)/(-4)
y = 2x - 16

Now we got it into the form we want. Now you can easily identify the slope and y-intercept. Scroll back up, we can see that m = slope and b = y-intercept. In this case, m = 2 and y-intercept = -16.

The second equation is already in the form for us so we don't get to play around with the equation (aww, is that sad?). Again, you can easily figure out the slope and y-intercept just simply by looking at it and point out the m value (slope) and b value (y-intercept).

To find the slope and y-intercept for the given equations, we need to rewrite them in slope-intercept form (y = mx + b), where "m" represents the slope and "b" represents the y-intercept.

1) 8x - 4y = 64:
First, we need to isolate the y variable. Let's start by moving the 8x term to the right side of the equation:
-4y = -8x + 64

Next, we divide the entire equation by -4 to solve for y:
y = (8/4)x - 16

Now, the equation is in slope-intercept form, where the slope (m) is 8/4 or 2, and the y-intercept (b) is -16.

Therefore, the slope is 2, and the y-intercept is -16.

2) y = 3/4 - 8:
The equation is already in slope-intercept form, where the slope (m) is 3/4, and the y-intercept (b) is -8.

Therefore, the slope is 3/4, and the y-intercept is -8.
