i'm trying to do a table of values for

9x/5-4/5
if I use 4, my answer is
36/5-4/5
7.25-4/5 = 3.25/5 or .65

is this correct, if not what am I doing wrong?

That doesn't look right.

First, 36/5 = 7.2 (not 7.25)

Secondly, you should do all multiplication first, then do subtraction.

9*4/5 - 4/5
7.2 - 0.8 = 6.4

thanks. i'll pay closer attention to what i'm doing.

To determine if your calculation is correct, let's evaluate the expression step by step.

The expression you have is:
(9x/5) - (4/5)

If you substitute x with 4, you get:
(9 * 4/5) - (4/5)

First, let's simplify the fractions by multiplying the numerators and denominators:
(36/5) - (4/5)

Since both fractions have a common denominator 5, you can subtract the numerators directly:
(36 - 4) / 5

Simplifying further:
32/5

So, when x is 4, the value of the expression (9x/5) - (4/5) is 32/5, or equivalently, 6.4.

Therefore, your answer should be 32/5 or 6.4, rather than 3.25/5 or 0.65.

It seems you made a small error during the calculation. Make sure to accurately perform the arithmetic operations to obtain the correct result.
