How do you factor -2x^2+60x-120.
I got -2(x^2-30x+60) but I need to factor it further.
I can not factor x^2 =30 X + 60 any more.
If you set it equal to zero and solve, you get:
x^2 - 30 x + 60 = 0
Using the quadratic equation then:
x = [ 30 +/- sqrt (900 - 240) ] /2
x = 15 + 12.85 = 27.85
or
x = 15 - 12.85 = 2.16
so the factors would be
(x-27.85)(x-2.16) approximately
In other words, I can not factor it.
Using the quadratic equation this way is a sure fire if slow way to factor a quadratic by the way.
