how did the early civilizations start?

Early civilizations started in Egypt along the Nile River, India(Pakistan) along the Indus River, and Mesopotamia (Iraq) between the Tigris and Euphrates Rivers. As early people discovered the advantages of farming, these rivers provided the water and fertile farmland that made agriculture efficient. Food became plentiful.

By settling in one place and growing crops for food, some people were freed from the day-to-day labor of hunting and gathering food. These people had the leisure to devise writing systems, arts, and literature. With large numbers of people living in close proximity to each other, they found that they need government and laws.

Thus was the start of early civilizations.
