This is the orginial assignment, and I am suppose to rewrite it.

I am a new publisher with some really great books to sell. I saw your announcement in Publishers Weekly about the bookseller's show you're having this summer, and I think it's a great idea. Count me in, folks! I would like to get some space to show my books. I thought it would be a neat thing if I could do some live airbrushing on T-shirts to help promote my hot new title, T-Shirt Art. Before I got into publishing, I was an airbrush artist, and I could demonstrate my techniques. I've done hundreds of advertising illustrations and have been a sign painter all my life, so I'll also be promoting my other book, hot off the presses, How to Make Money in the Sign Painting Business.
I will be starting my PR campaign about May 2008 with ads in PW and some art trade papers, so my books should be well known by the time the show comes in August. In case you would like to use my appearance as part of your publicity, I have enclosed a biography and photo of myself.
P.S. Please let me know what it costs for booth space as soon as possible, so I can figure out whether I can afford to attend. Being a new publisher is mighty expensive!

This is how I rewrote it.

I noticed that you're looking to rewrite the original assignment. While your revised version captures the essential information, there are a few areas where you can further improve the clarity and professionalism of the message. Here's a suggested rewrite:

Dear [Publisher's Name],

I am writing to express my interest in participating in the upcoming bookseller's show mentioned in Publishers Weekly. As a new publisher, I am excited to showcase my collection of exceptional books and believe this event would be the perfect opportunity to do so. I would like to inquire about the availability and cost of booth space to present my titles.

One unique aspect I would like to incorporate into my exhibition is live airbrushing on T-shirts, which would serve as a creative and engaging way to promote my latest release, "T-Shirt Art." Prior to entering the publishing industry, I had a successful career as an airbrush artist, allowing me to provide captivating demonstrations of my techniques. Additionally, I bring a wealth of experience from my background as a sign painter, which would also be advantageous in promoting my second book, "How to Make Money in the Sign Painting Business."

To generate awareness ahead of the event, I plan to launch a comprehensive PR campaign starting in May 2008. This will include advertising in Publishers Weekly and various art trade papers, with the aim of establishing a strong presence for my books well before the show takes place in August. Should you find it beneficial for publicity purposes, I have enclosed a biography and photo of myself that you may utilize.

Understanding the financial considerations associated with attending such an event, I kindly request that you provide me with the details regarding booth space rental costs as soon as possible. Being a new publisher, I am mindful of the expenses associated with establishing a presence in the industry.

Thank you for your time and consideration. I look forward to your response and the possibility of participating in the bookseller's show.

Sincerely,
