this doesnt really help because for all i know that article could have been written by a 5 year old. please, i just need a number.

Why would you trust the word of some anonymous person on this board if you don't trust the article in an encyclopedia?

well because wikipedia can be changed by anyone who goes on it and i am hoping that anyone on this board that is helping people with homework and such is not a 5 year old

That's not true. Find out for yourself. Go to a Wikipedia article and try to change part of it. You'll find that it's impossible.

Wikipedia has built in many safeguards to prevent anyone from changing their articles. All changes must be approved by the editors.

There are 535 members in the U.S. Congress. To find the answer, you can refer to the United States Constitution. According to Article 1, Section 2, each state is entitled to at least one Representative, and the number of Representatives is divided among the states based on their population. Additionally, Article 1, Section 3 states that each state is represented by two Senators in the Senate, regardless of its population. The House of Representatives has 435 voting members, while the Senate has 100 members. Therefore, the total number of members in the U.S. Congress is 435 + 100 = 535.
