I'm writing an essay and I know after a quote, you write the author's name in parenthesis.

however, i'm using a quote from a website, the article doesn't have an author.

it is a website that just states statistics about my topic and issues and problems.

so what would i put in the parenthesis then, the websitie

yeah, the website would probably be your best guess. technically the website is the author, so your the name of the site would make the most sense.

This site will give you that information.

yea, i am doing the exact same thing

Ok can someone help me?

When citing a quote from a website that does not have a specified author, you can adapt the in-text citation format. Instead of including an author's name in parentheses after the quote, you can insert a shortened version of the website's title or the full title if it is not too long. Here's an example:

"Statistics indicate that..." (Website Title).

Alternatively, if the website has an organization or institution associated with it, you could use that name. For instance:

"According to the statistics provided by..." (Organization Name).

Remember to include the full reference to the website in your bibliography or works cited page at the end of your essay.
