I am reading the book Great Expectations by Dickens and need help with the following: I need definitions for these words:

divine(verb)
discomfiture
disparage
conciliatory
larcenous
supplicant
retributive
diffidence
despotic
squally
I've looked them up in the dictionary but some I didn't understand or couldn't find at all. Please help.

All of them are in this online dictionary.

Find the definition that makes the most sense to you for each of these words. Most of them have at least one definition that's fairly easy to understand.

If you get stuck on a couple, please post them and the definitions you found, and we'll be glad to help you understand them.

All right, thank you, I'll go do that now and I'll repost if there's anything I can't find. Thanks Ms. Sue
