I have to chose 20 books + to read this year. If any, what books would you recommend???
I am in 8th grade, but can read adult novels, such as To Kill a Mockingbird (read it) and Moby Dick
If you haven't already read them, I recommend Watership Down (Richard Adams), pretty much anything by George Orwell that catches your eye (especially "1984"), and Fahrenheit 451.
If you like fantasy, David and Leigh Eddings have some good books; my favorites were The Redemption of Althalus, and Belgarath the Sorcerer.

Jack made some excellent suggestions. In addition, I suggest novels by Leon Uris. These are long, but fascinating, and shed light on long historic periods in other parts of the world. An American historical favorite is Johnny Tremain set in American Revolutionary times. Another long, but entertaining book, this one set in the American Civil War is Gone With the Wind
If you read 1984, you should also read Brave New World with a similar theme.
