I'm not sure how to reference the source if I used the Merck Index.

It's the 14th edition and it has the editors and publisher but I'm not sure write the format.

The Merck Index
An Encyclopedia of chemicals, drugs, and biologicals

I'm outdated on this but the ACS styleguide probably is your best source for information on scientific citations.

Thanks Dr.Bob =D

If you need to reference the Merck Index in your academic or research work, you can follow a specific format to ensure proper citation. Here's an example of how you can reference the 14th edition of the Merck Index:

Author(s):
The Merck Index: An Encyclopedia of chemicals, drugs, and biologicals (14th ed.)

Publisher:
Merck & Co., Inc.

Year of Publication:
2006

To create a citation using the American Psychological Association (APA) style, you can follow this format:

Merck & Co., Inc. (2006). The Merck Index: An Encyclopedia of chemicals, drugs, and biologicals (14th ed.). Rahway, NJ: Merck & Co., Inc.

In the Modern Language Association (MLA) style, the citation would look like this:

The Merck Index: An Encyclopedia of chemicals, drugs, and biologicals. 14th ed., Merck & Co., Inc., 2006.

Please note that different citation styles have specific guidelines, so it's important to consult the appropriate style guide or your instructor's requirements before finalizing your citations.
