Did I do this correctly:

Equation of a line:
y=1/3x+5

Finding x-intercept, you set y to 0

y=1/3x+5
0=1/3x+5
-5 x 3=x
-15=x

Finding y-intercept you set x to 0

y=1/3x+5
y=1/3 x 0 +5
y=5

* b=5 and b=y-intercept. But what if b is not given then how do i find y-intercept??

You did it correctly. If b was not given, you would have to have another point on the line to determine the intercept.

Thank-you so much.

what is the value of m if h1=21,h2=14,and d=49?

To find the value of m using the given values h1, h2, and d.

The formula to find m is:

m = (h2 - h1) / d

Substitute the given values into the formula:

m = (14 - 21) / 49

Simplifying the numerator:

m = -7 / 49

Then, divide the numerator by the denominator:

m = -1/7

So, the value of m is -1/7.
