There are several good websites in here that may help.

Regarding conflicts, remember that the obvious one is between the two armies, but there are others -- between two characters; between what a character's duty is and what that character REALLY wants to be doing; etc.

In the first day of Killer Angels, the setting is Gettysburg in 1863. The primary conflict is indeed between the Union and Confederacy, as you mentioned. However, there may be other conflicts in the story, such as:

1. Man vs. Himself: This type of conflict occurs when a character is battling with their own thoughts, emotions, or desires. In the book, there could be characters struggling with their allegiance to their side or questioning the righteousness of their cause.

2. Man vs. Society: This conflict arises when a character is in conflict with the norms, rules, or expectations of society. In the context of the Civil War, there may be characters challenging the ideologies of their respective sides or facing the consequences of their beliefs.

3. Man vs. Man: This is the most straightforward conflict, depicting the clash between two or more characters. Throughout the book, there will likely be moments of direct confrontation between individuals from opposing sides, showcasing the animosity and tension between them.

As for creating a spy name from the Civil War, you can combine traditional names or terms from that era with covert or mysterious words. For example, you could use "Silent Saboteur," "Shadow Agent," or "Cloak and Dagger." Get creative and feel free to invent a name that captures the essence of a Civil War spy!
