Nine more than the sum of six minus a number and five equals twenty-one

I am sorry I hit the wrong button and it sent it before i finished can some tell me if i have writen this problem right i think it goes
21=6-x+5+9
would this be they way i write it so i cqan solve it because when i solve it it seems not to have a solution

should have been 6-(x+5)+9=21
..
..
x=-11

check
the number and five >>> -11+5=-6
6 minus that quantity >>> 6-(-6)=12
and 9 more than that >>> 12+9 = 21

To solve the equation correctly, you should rewrite it as 6 - (x + 5) + 9 = 21. Then you can simplify it step by step:

1. Start by simplifying the expression inside the parentheses: x + 5. The negative sign before the parentheses means you subtract the entire expression inside.

2. Rewrite the equation with the simplified expression: 6 - x - 5 + 9 = 21.

3. Combine like terms: -x - 5 + 9 becomes -x + 4. So the equation becomes 6 - x + 4 = 21.

4. Combine like terms again: 6 + 4 is 10. The equation is now 10 - x = 21.

5. Isolate the variable by moving the 10 to the other side of the equation: -x = 21 - 10.

6. Calculate the subtraction on the right side: 21 - 10 is 11. The equation becomes -x = 11.

7. To solve for x, divide both sides of the equation by -1 (or multiply by -1): x = -11.

When you substitute x = -11 back into the equation, you should get 21 = 21, which confirms that this is the correct solution.
