thanks lance. that helped!

You're welcome! I'm glad the information I provided was helpful. To further answer your question, cats and dogs do not have identifiable fingerprints like humans do. While they have ridges on their paws, the ridges do not form distinct patterns like fingerprints do in humans.

If you are conducting a science project comparing human and animal fingerprints, you may want to focus on the similarities and differences in the structure and function of the skin on the paws of cats and dogs compared to human fingerprints. You can explore factors such as the presence of sweat glands, patterns of ridges, and variations in skin elasticity.

Remember, when conducting a science project, it's important to have a clear hypothesis, outline your experimental procedure, collect and analyze data, and draw well-supported conclusions. Good luck with your project!
