What is the proper footnote format for an internet source?

I don't know many places that require footnotes any more. The usual format is to use in-text parenthetical citations along with a Works Cited page (was called a bibliography).

Hold your cursor over CITING SOURCES and then click on Electronic Sources/Internet. You'll find they give you explanation and examples for different kinds of website citations.

If you are not using MLA format, please let me know, and I'll find some other sources for you.

The proper format for citing an internet source in a footnote may vary depending on the citation style you are using. However, it is more common to use in-text citations or parenthetical citations along with a Works Cited or References page.

If you are using the MLA (Modern Language Association) citation style, which is commonly used in the humanities, you would typically use in-text citations along with a Works Cited page. MLA provides guidelines for citing electronic sources including internet sources.

To find the specific format and examples for citing internet sources in MLA, you can visit the official MLA website (http://wwwold.ccc.commnet.edu/mla/) and look for the "Electronic Sources/Internet" section under the "CITING SOURCES" menu. They provide explanations and examples for different types of website citations.

If you are using a different citation style other than MLA, please let me know, and I can provide you with information on citing internet sources in that specific style.
