For English, I have an assignment that goes along with a story and #4 says: Focus on Kate Chopin's ability to capture the complexity of human nature in a few paragraphs. Provide at least two examples in which the potrayal of Mrs. Mallard is realistic.

I can't decide if they are trying to say focus on Kate Chopin's ability to capture haman nature in a few paragraphs or if they are asking you to write a few paragraphs about her ability. Do you get what I am saying?

The more and more I read the question, I am pretty sure that they want me to write a few paragraphs.

Actually, the selection is pretty short so I am just assuming that they mean that Kate Chopin has the ability to capture the complexity of human nature in a few paragraphs and that I don't have to write any paragraphs, just provide the two examples.

Sorry if this is confusing. It is kind of hard to explain.

You are correct.

Based on the wording of the assignment, it seems that your task is to identify at least two examples from the story that demonstrate Kate Chopin's ability to capture the complexity of human nature. You do not need to write paragraphs about her ability, but instead, focus on specific examples within the story that exemplify this skill.

To accomplish this task, you should start by closely reading and analyzing the story, paying attention to the characterization and actions of Mrs. Mallard. Look for instances where the author portrays Mrs. Mallard's complex emotions, thoughts, or motivations in a concise and impactful way. These examples should reflect the depth and intricacy of human nature and provide insight into Mrs. Mallard's character.

Once you have identified two such examples, you can then explain why they are realistic portrayals of Mrs. Mallard. Consider the way Chopin uses language, symbolism, and other literary techniques to effectively capture the complexity of Mrs. Mallard's character within a few paragraphs.

Remember to provide specific evidence from the story to support your analysis and to explain how these examples demonstrate Chopin's ability to capture the complexity of human nature.
