Calculate the volume of gas you would expect to be evolved in X mol of magnesium were reacted with an excess of HCl at standard conditions.

I'm going to tell you what my father told me...LOOK IT UP

thanks for the unnecessary comment!

Mg + 2HCl ==> MgCl2 + H2
1 mol Mg will produce 1 mol H2 gas; therefore, x mols Mg will produce x mols H2 gas at standard conditions.

I DON'T HAVE A ANSWER BUT A QUESTION WHAT IS

Mg+HCL->MgCL2 +H2

IS IT SYNTHESIS, SINGLE REPLACEMENT, DOUBLE REPLACEMENT OR DECOMPOSITION THX BYE

  • Ap chem question 2 related to the first question -

    I think this would classify as a single replacement rxn.

  • Ap chem question 2 related to the first question -
