Level of assimilation -- Continuance of family and religious traditions
Both Chinese and Japans American have started to have more interracial marriages and branching out of their traditional ways. In both groups the divorce is very low because they commit and will stay with that mate. In the past the Chinese group where subject to arranges marriages from family and friends. Both groups share the Christian faith and are devoted to the church.
Relative lifestyle success in the United States -- Role in the economy
These groups are different when it comes to success in the United States. The Chinese have been subject to enslavement due to possible paybacks from being smuggling in the United States. Everything may look wonderful from the outside in Chinatown but on top of restaurants there are people working in factories with very little pay. However the Japanese have expanded financial in the United States most earn above or the same as whites. They do this by first sending children back to their country to go to school so once they return or even first enter the country they will be educated enough to get in the mainstream of the workforce.
Political involvement
Both groups have very little interest in politics however they keep informed of any changes in their homeland.
Experience with racism, prejudice, and discrimination
Similarity, These groups feel that there is a decrease in racism assuming that most people over react to prejudice in American.
