My mom and I don't agree on the answer to this problem

10x10-5x10
I say 995
Mom says 50

10x10-5x10
100-50
50

If you show me your work I can show you your error. I am not sure if x stands for the variable or multiplication. If multiplication your mother is correct.

its 50 i think u did 10x10=100-5=95x10=995 but u really want to do (10x10)-(5x10)=50

If the problem is
100-50=50

i think ists 30!!
