how much does the first microscope magnify

some of the websites I searched said 20X or 3X to 9X so I'm not sure

The first microscope, known as the optical microscope, was invented by Zacharias Janssen in the late 16th century. It consisted of a convex lens at the top and a concave lens at the bottom. While there is no definitive record of the exact magnification of the first microscope, it is believed to have magnified objects around 3x to 9x.

To determine the magnification of the first microscope, researchers have studied historical documents and compared it with modern microscopes. However, due to the lack of precise measurements and the variation in lens quality during that time, the exact magnification cannot be accurately determined.

It's important to note that the magnification of a microscope depends on the combination of lenses used, their focal lengths, and the overall design. The first microscope was a crude and basic version compared to modern microscopes, but it still laid the foundation for the field of microscopy.
