10cm=1dm
100cm=1m
10000cm=1hm

There are 100 centimeters in a meter. We know that becase of the prefix centi-.
Please re-read DrBob222's post. It explains the prefixes clearly. Be sure to use a table until you have the basic prefixes memorized.

If you are confused still then you didn't use my method. You only need to count to six to make any of the conversions you posted.

AND you didn't check into www.google.com and type in the conversion.

To convert from centimeters to decimeters, meters, and hectometers, you need to understand the prefixes used in the metric system. Here's how you can do the conversions:

1. Centimeters to Decimeters:
- Remember that "deci-" means one-tenth. So, there are 10 centimeters in a decimeter. To find the number of decimeters in a given number of centimeters, divide the centimeters by 10. For example, if you have 50 centimeters, divide 50 by 10 to get 5 decimeters.

2. Centimeters to Meters:
- In the metric system, "centi-" means one-hundredth. Hence, there are 100 centimeters in a meter. To convert centimeters to meters, divide the centimeters by 100. For instance, if you have 250 centimeters, divide 250 by 100 to get 2.5 meters.

3. Centimeters to Hectometers:
- "Hecto-" means one hundred. So, there are 10,000 centimeters in a hectometer. To convert centimeters to hectometers, divide the centimeters by 10,000. For example, if you have 50,000 centimeters, divide 50,000 by 10,000 to get 5 hectometers.

If you are still confused or need more accuracy, you can use an online tool like Google for quick conversions. Just type the conversion you want to make, such as "50 cm to dm," and Google will provide you with the answer.
