Homework Help: Social Studies: World Issues: Female Education Battles

It is my belief that women should have an education. They are equal to men, no less or more. Women would have a difficult life if they were not educated. Thus, their family would also have a complicated life. Women would not have the many possibilities that they were capable of, if they had no education. Their lives might have lived in poverty. Moreover, the woman's family might have lacked in knowledge, or might've had no knowledge to live their life. Women should have an education because they would succeed in all the examples listed above.

In the first place, if women were to have an education, they could help their husband with their work. The woman would be "kind and helpful" (Education For Women). The woman would be "strongest where he (the man) is weakest, and (she may be) weakest where he is strongest." (The Proper Activities Of Women). Suppose, there was a woman who was a doctor, and she had a husband who was also a doctor. She could help him with medical work or theories. In other words, if a woman is weak at a particular part of job, her husband could help her, and if the husband is weak at a particular job, the wife could help him. Education can bring "independence to (the woman's) mind" (Education For Independence). By helping their husband with work, the husband could see the potential the woman has and is capable of.

Likewise, woman should have an education for the reason that they could support their family. By supporting their family, they would've been considered pitiful, but they still fought for education. Women could work and earn money. With that extra money, they could support their family. Woman should have "a share of the opportunities offered to men" (The Rights Of Human Beings). With the share of education, women could help their family by providing them with money. Finally, women should receive an education because they could gain more knowledge. Thus, with more knowledge, women could get a better job. With a better job, wives would provide more money to the family. A woman's "intuitive faculties surpass those of men" (The Proper Activities Of Women). Women can go far with an education. "(Till) women shall be more reasonably educated, and till the native growth of their mind(s), shall cease to be (stunted) and cramped, we have no juster ground" (Developing The Mind). In other words, women should have a reasonable education to be just and equal with men.

For the preceding reasons, I believe that a woman should have an education. Women can provide the family with more money, more knowledge, and can help their husband with their job. Women should be equal with their husband and should have the same rights for education. No one knows the ability and potential of a woman. No one knows what women are, or what they can do.
