Homework Help: Social Studies: World Issues: College Obstacles
by Beatrice Linscott
Attending college is not an easy thing to do. After I got laid off, I decided to attend college and start a new career. Unlike some people my age, who are getting set to retire and spend the rest of their lives in some topical island somewhere in the Bahamas, I am going back to school and starting a new career.
Some of the obstacles that I am having to find out are how to organize my time and my life. For example, getting the kids ready for school, and then fixing my husband work lunch. Then I have to run and get myself ready and go to work. In addition, some time in between the hours of the day, I have to find time for doing my homework.
Secondly, Money is the other obstacle that I also am encountering. Not having enough money to go full time to college, and having to work part time in order to be able to pay for the classes.
The third obstacle is that I have to take one class per semester. It will take me a very long time to finish. Consequently my family doesn’t understand why I am going to college.
There are so many obstacles and hoops that I have to go through, just to attend college. But believe me it is worth it, to be able to attend college.
