tan is a trig operator, it needs an operand. You probably mean something like tan^2 Ų - tanŲ = 0 factor it tanŲ(tanŲ - 1) = 0 so tanŲ=0 or tanŲ=1 Ų = 0 or Ų = π/4 or Ų = 5π/4 since it asked for the positive acute angle Ų = π/4 radians or 45°
