algebra 2
I'm assuming the (b + 10) and the (b + 9) terms are in the numerator. (b + 10)/5 - 7 = (b + 9)/3 Multiply each side by 15: 3(b + 10) - 105 = 5(b + 9) 3(b + 10) - 5(b + 9) = 105 3b + 30 - 5b - 45 = 105 3b - 5b = 105 - 30 + 45 -2b = 120 b = -60.

I appears that you are attempting to calculate the average rate of change of the cost as the number of units changes from 100 to 105 that rate would be [C(105)-C(100)]/[105-100] which does work out to be 101.25/5

We KNOW cis isomers are different from trans isomers and we know it's because the atoms are on the same side in cis and opposite sides in trans. There is nothing wrong with saying what you have said; however, your answer begs the question. I THINK what the question is ...

No such thing as cis/trans cyclohexane. However, there is such a thing as cis- or trans- 1,2-dimethylcyclohexane. There must be two non hydrogen atoms or functional groups attached to two different carbon atoms on the cyclohexane ring to get this type of isomerism. cis/trans ...
