Square-root and squares sqrt(x) where x can be a double or float. Example: double x, out; ... out=sqrt(x); // square-root ... out=x*x; // square As far as I remember, x^2 for x-squared does not work in C++. There is math function called pow(x,2), but x*x is much simpler.

Algebra multiplying sq rt
x^(1/3) * (7x)^(1/4) = x^(1/3) * 7^(1/4) * x^(1/4) = 7^(1/4) * x(1/3 + 1/4) = 7^(1/4) * x (7/12) In other words, when you multiply you add exponents think 10^1 * 10^2 = 10^3 = 1,000 like you know that 10 * 100 = 1000

The addition principle says you can add the same number to both sides of an equation without changing the value of the variable. In this case, we choose to add -10, so that the sum of constants on the left side will be zero. x+10= -8 x+10-10= -8-10 x= -18

You actually have to only remember to flip and multiply. That is how I learned it. (-3/4)/(1/10) flip the 1/10 so you get 10/1 which is the same as 10 then you can multiply it by the fraction that is being divided. (-3/4)*(10/1)= -7.5
