Homework Help: Science: Earth: Problems Caused By Drought
There are many problems caused by drought. One of the things is lack of
water. There is no grass for animals to eat because of the lack of
rainfall. Farmers have smaller crops, which effects their financial
stability. The other thing is water-restrictions. Water conservation for
a town has been restricted. The water conservation for a single-home
dwelling have been restricted to no watering outside, and washing only on
certain days, which includes showering. The next thing that drought has
caused is fire danger. The forest must be shut down until an adequate
amount of moisture has fallen. Without rain, forests are able to catch
fire very easily, which hurts wildlife and removes oxygen from the earth.
When the rain does come it is possible that floods and wash-outs might
happen. When in drought the wildlife has lack of food. When the wildlife
has lack of food they come down off the mountains, and into the town. When
they go into the town the have the risk of getting hit by a car, or shot to
protect the towns people. Some towns even ask the people to fee the
animals. Without rainfall some of the animals die or become deathly sick.
The tree's also die because the roots are not getting enough water. When
the trees die the oxygen level of that town decreases. If there is not
even oxygen the people will not get enough oxygen in take. When the trees
die it effects the towns and people around them. When the roots get enough
water the trees begin to look alive. When the rain falls to hard and there
is a wash-out it washes out the small bushes and the soil.
