Marker Pens are a type of pen with an internal ink source. The tip is usually made from some type of porous material. The porous material allows the ink to travel from the internal chamber of the marker, out through the tip, and onto the school supply paper.

There are different types of school supplies markers. Felt-tip markers have a tip constructed of felt material. Permanent markers have permanent ink inside and will not come out of clothing material.

Most markers are made out of plastic but some are constructed out of a metal casing. Most markers have caps to seal them; however, some markers have a retractable felt-tip.

Markers are used for a wide variety of coloring projects. Dry markers are also used on whiteboards. The advantage of a dry marker and a whiteboard is the added advantage of the erasable quality of dry markers and whiteboards.
