@Cookie monster 🍪, just split the figure into simpler, non-overlapping figures, find the area of the smaller figures (split them up into common shapes- squares, rectangles, ect. and then just google the formula for the are of THOSE figures if you don't know them) and then just add the area of the smaller figures together to equal the area of the original figure.
