There are conflicts because ever since Muhammad (one of the first caliphs) there are several Muslim nations that argue and dispute they do so because they have conflicts with dividing and giving power and authority in the religious section. Long ago two specific Muslim groups the Sunni and Shai argued with each other about who should have been the new caliph or successor after the last caliph died (Muhammad) they argued on who should be the new one. The caliphs switched several times but eventually lead to a caliph named Ali after 6 years of rule Ali was assassinated eventually a new dynasty took over and brought peace and harmony but the Sunni and Shai continued to cause conflict.
