I don't want links I want answers please and please make sure it's in your own words.

What are the causes of problems the Mayans and other Native American groups fate in Guatemala? How are people trying to solve these problems?

@Ms. Sue @Reed @Writeacher

The teacher doesn't want my own words. Your teacher wants YOUR own words.

What have you learned from studying your text?

I don't think your teacher will accept our words any more than she/he would if you copied from someone else. You have to learn about this topic and write your own answer.

I guess you should just give up and fail this assignment, Fluttershy. You don't want links and won't study your text. And we're not going to give you the answers. You're up a creek!

That's why I post new stuff because I know she cant find new posts as easy as she can find old post

And no Ms. Sue I can always post the same question somewhere else

So you admit to being a cheater! Shhheeessh! I thought better of you.

Really that's sweet of you. Thank you but sorry.

Fluttershy, if you can convince tutors on another site to do your homework for you, by all means do so. We won't. The purpose of going to school is for YOU to learn. Cheating accomplishes nothing.

And I only use maybe a sentence of what you give me and then I change the answer

Guatemala is about 60% Ladino (Mestizo) or European. The those two are lumped together because it's hard to pick out who is mixed and who European. They all speak Spanish.

The other 40% are mostly some type of Mayan. There are about 3 main groups who distinguish themselves by variations in speech and some practices.
So when discussing issues facing Mayans you are really talking about a nationwide problem. The problems are usually more severe with these native groups.
Here are some issues:
Language: Spanish is not a first language for many Mayans, especially in remote areas.
Poverty: Among the poorest in the Americas.
Growing population: About half of Guatemalans are under 24 years old. They have the highest fertility rate in the Americas. (About 3 children per female).
Civil war: It's been over about 10 years but there is still instability.
Rural areas, where much of the native population lives, have poor education, poor roads and access to health care.

Guatemalans have a long tradition of immigrating to Mexico and the US. Southern Mexico is traditional Mayan land.

So what are they doing about this. About what you would expect from a poor country with some ethnic division.

There is some snobbery among the Spanish speakers. Maybe we can call it racism, but not quite I think. People who claim pure European blood consider themselves above others usually. There's usually Indian blood somewhere, but some still claim.

The government has made efforts to improve health conditions, especially reproductive health. The fertility rate has decreased a little.
Efforts are made to help education and roads. But a somewhat shaky government is usually smart to concentrate on urban areas.

NGOs (non-government organizations) help like they do everywhere. Red Cross, Catholic charities and such make for much of the clean water, schools and food.

Even if you take a sentence from one and a sentence from another we can find it. And yes, I am your teacher. And no this answer you wrote out is not correct.

how can you be her teacher if you don't even know her/his name the useername is flutter shy duh

Latin America will do nothing for us in the long run

Hey! I really don't know the answer to this. @Reed could you help me? I am not a cheater. I have done my research, but I can't make sense of anything.
