Generate a carefully crafted, visually appealing image that speaks to the history of home video gaming systems. The image should encapsulate the evolution of gaming culture, from the simple burst of pixels on a screen in the late 1960s, to the rudimentary shapes and figures of the mid-1970s, then bridging into the complex, immersive experiences available in the early 1990s. The image should keep the viewers intrigued with its subtle hints at these distinct eras in gaming history, but crucially, it must contain no text. The goal is to tell a story through visuals alone, somewhat like an infographic without any accompanying words.

When did home video game systems first become very popular?

-in the late 1960s
- in the mid-1970s***
- in the early 1990s

Yes ... our first VCR in 1976. Over $300 in those days ... VERY expensive!

I did answer to this

All your cheating does is awaken all the Ms. Sue's that you have slain! Kneel before me, mere mortals!

My answer was right. Thanks to none of you.

**Mid-1980s to early-1990s is what I remember.**

Well, you were no help.

nutshell answer: mid-1970's when the Atari 2600 brought the gaming industry to popularity.

Long Answer:
Though the first video game was invented in 1962 (Spacewar! was the first game, and was played on a massive computer running off magnetic tape), video games were not brought into homes until 1972 when the Magnavox Odyssey was invented, back then, the Magnavox could not handle more than projecting two white pixels onto a blue screen, you used things called overlays to simulate "graphics", the Atari which made gaming more popular was the Atari 2600, which was invented in 1977, that's when the rise of popularity in console gaming started, though the dark ages of gaming came in 1983 when E.T Extra-Terrestrial the game (the worst game ever made) was released following the poorly ported version of Pac-Man. Video gaming was revived thanks to the release of the Nintendo Entertainment System. back in the day if you wanted to play games consoles were a better choice, but in the mid 1980's the PC revolution began (when PC games started looking as good as console games) in mid-1990's experimenting with 3D games began, simple graphics like in Final Fantasy VII started becoming the standard, meanwhile PC's began to take a massive leap with really advanced graphics like in the original Half-Life or Counter-Strike, in mid-2000's, 3D began to get REALLY realistic, eventually games like Counter-Strike: Source and Assassin's Creed started to look less distinguishable from real life graphically. Currently, we're beginning to take a leap into virtual reality with systems like the HTC Vive.

I still think that's too early. The question included "home video game systems first become very popular" -- home video game systems and very popular

I remember getting our first VCR, yes, in the mid 1970s, but it was VERY expensive! And ... game systems?? Don't remember those at all!

Mid-1880s to early-1990s is what I remember.

You're both way off!!

hope that helped
