- sit up straight
- pay attention to the teacher
- sing loud
- don't chew gum
- open your mouth wide
- aim for singing the vowels
- breathe with your chest
- don't breathe with your shoulders!
- don't eat fatty foods before singing - it can change the pitch at which you wish to sing!
- if you have to sing a high note think high
- set yourself to hit the note from the top instead of dead on
- sing from your chest but no your throat
- avoid dairy foods and chocolate before singing because it will give you tons of mucus
- drink lots of water
- when you sing, sing with the back of your throat open
- don't move shoulders while singing
- if shoulders go up and down while singing, put arms above head and slowly bring them down
- try breathing through your diaphragm
- during spare time, try memorizing the music
