The standard free energy of activation of one reaction is 94.3 kj/mol^-1 (22.54 kcal/mol^-1). The standard free energy of activation for another reaction is 76.4 kJ/mol^-1 (18.26 kcal/mol^-1). Assume temp of 298K and 1 M conc. By what factor is one faster than the other? Im ...

I understand generally how to solve, by taking natural logs and the the derivative, but i am confused by the presence of the 3 in front... if f(x)= 3(sin(x))^x, find f'(1) should i move 3 to the y side or take the natural log of it? Thanks!

Organic chemistry: an attempt at synthesizing a certain optically active compound resulted in a mixture of its enantiomers. The mixture had an observed specific rotation of 11.0 degrees. If it is known that the specific rotation of the R enantiomer is -33.6 degrees, determine ...

Im not sure where to factor in the two longer compounds for this problem. "Rank the given compounds based ontheir relative acidities" HF H2C--CH2 NH3 CH4 HC---CCH3 This is the order i thought it was, but this isnt right apparently... (--- means triple bond, -- means ...

This is a balancing eqn Im finding rather tricky: ___Fe(NH4)2(SO4)2 6H2O + ___ H2C2O4 + ___K2C2O4 + ___ H2O2 ---> ___K5Fe1(C2O2)2 3H2O + ___(NH4)2(SO4) + ___H2SO4 + ___ H2O remember H2O2, an oxidizing agent, was used in synthesis, so youll nee to do a redox balance. Start ...

This problem is from my chemistry book and I am having a little trouble with the intermediary steps: Barium metal crystallizes in a body- centered cubic lattice (atoms at lattice points only) The unit cell edge length is 502 pm, and the density of the metal if 3.5g/cm^3. (...

this is a wiley plus problem and there is no reading lesson with this section so im not sure how to approach this question: The element iridium has ccp packing with a face-centered cubic unit cell. The density of Ir is 22400 kg/m3. Calculate the volume (cm3) of the unit cell ...

could someone help me with this question? A quantity of 400 mL of .6 M HNO3 is mixed with 400 mL of .3 M Ba(OH)2 in a constant pressure calorimeter of negligible heat capacity. The initial temperature of both solutions is the same at 18.46 degrees Celsius. What is the final ...

I dont know if i am solving for the number moles of NaI correctly, i multiply .21 by 1.67, is that incorrect? i know that to solve this you have to find the limiting reagent, but i think the problem might be that i am solving for moles wrong. If 210 mL of 1.67 M aqueous NaI ...
