Lianne has nineteen coins worth \$1.45. Some of her coins are dimes & the rest are nickels. How many dimes does she have?

Math
I do not need to mutiply anything. I just need to simplify this. (2^-1∙7^-4)^-2 So the final answer is 2^2 x 7^8 ? but how did we get this?

Math
So how do we arrive @ this answer?

Math
Simplify. (2^-1∙7^-4)^-2

I saw the answer, but my choices are as follows: Thank you for your help but which one would it be? the thrid one or forth? I know the 1st two are no goes. You opinion please? Thanks! (m + 4) (a – 8) (m + 4) (a + 8) (m + 4) (2a – 2) (m + 4) (a2 – 2)

Math
Ok so the answer is (m + 4) (2a – 2) OR (m + 4) (a2 – 2)

Math
So then the answer would be (m + 4) (2a – 2) OR (m + 4) (a2 – 2)

Math
Factor (m + 4) (a – 5) + (m + 4) (a + 3) I cut it down to 2 possibilities. (m + 4) (2a – 2) (m + 4) (a2 – 2) Think it's this one

Algebra
Thanks! That is what I thought, but why is this the answer? How does the probelm work it self out to be like that?
