How do I algebraically find the x-intercepts for this equation y = x^3 - 3x^2 + 3. I know I need to plug in y = 0 to solve for x. x^3 - 3x^2 + 3 = 0 But where do I go from there? I don't think I can factor, and I don't think I can use the quadratic formula.

Wallis's method of tangents
consider the curve defined by the equation y=a(x^2)+bx+c. Take a point(h,k) on the curve. use Wallis's method of tangents to show that the slope of the line tangent to this curve at the point(h,k) will be m= 2ah+b. have to prove this for tow cases: a>0 and a<0. Thank...
