Physics 102 (College)
I'm stuck on part B of this question: A system does 125 J of work on environment and gains 79 J of heat in the process. Find change in internal energy (delta U, abbreviated dU)of a. the system and b. the environment. A. Find dU of the system W = 125 J Q = 79 J dU = Q - W d...

Hmm, 5 didn't work for this particular problem, but thanks for the suggestion

Thank you drwls! Explaining what the question was asking for helped me realize the problem was actually much simpler than what I was trying to do. W = -4250

A few homework problems. 1) The temp of a monotomic ideal gas remains constant (isothermic) during a process in which 4250 J of heat flows out of gas. How much work is done? Pos/neg? delta T = 0 and delta U = 0 by inference Q = 4250 U = 3/2 nRT Thanks for help/hints

math question 4- very urgent !
Find the average value of f(x) = x^3 + 3 for 0 ≤ x ≤ 2 and find all values of x* described in the Mean Value Theorem for Integrals.

math question 3- very urgent !
Find x* on [0, 2] such that f(x*) equals the average value of f(x) = 5x + 9 over [0, 2].

math question 2- very urgent !
Given f (x) = √(7 + x) + 4 . Use the rectangle method to approximate the area on the interval [0, 8] using 4 rectangles. (Assume the graph goes through the midpoint of each rectangle.)

math - very urgent !
Verify that f(x) = x^3 − 2x + 6 satisfies the hypothesis of the Mean-Value Theorem over the interval [-2, 3] and find all values of C that satisfy the conclusion of the theorem.
