Is the SAT a Fair Test?
Reader Response

Hi,
I have read all these responses. I do agree in many basis. Being a
minority in a middle class family. I am struggling to go to my choice
college. I am a hard working student in a College Prep school. I will
be senior soon. My SAT scores do not correlate with my high school
grades. However, currently I have no choice. There has been incidents
where students who are not dedicated and who cheat in tests score do
very good on SAT. This gives them one step up than others whom are
dedicated, hard working students who naturally tend to score low on SAT.
Therefore, I am forced to take classes that help me to know HOW to take
these tests. There has been studies done showing that SAT scores do not
correlate with how well one does in college as well as studies showing
that SAT scores do help predict the grades one will recieve in college.
Hopefully, the coming generation will find a better way of making a
standard for all students or maybe there wont' be. Nonetheless, its
better to hope than nothing.
Sincerely, Tenzin
