Lencho has been portrayed as a deeply spiritual man. He had immense faith in God's goodness and generosity. After his crop was destroyed in a storm, he wrote a letter to God requesting Him to send him 100 pesos. His faith was rewarded. God helped him through the postmaster. Since the postmaster had only 70 pesos, he sent them all to maintain Lencho's faith in God. The innocent Lencho thanked God for his help; he also wrote another letter to God asking him to send 30 more pesos. He appealed to God to send the money through some other means, as he suspected the post office employees were crooks.
1. Faith in God- He had immense faith in God and was not at all surprised after seeing the envelope sent by God.
2. Innocent- He was innocent because he thought that God will send him money but we all know that it is not possible.
3. Hard working- Lencho was a hard-working farmer. He worked day and night to keep his crops alive and flourishing.
4. Ungrateful - He was ungrateful because even after receiving 70 pesos he was not satisfied with the amount and wrote a letter to God again demanding the remaining money.
5. unquestioning- Lencho was unquestioning as when he received the letter from God he did not try to find who sent it. He was sure that God had sent him money.

Lencho was a hard working farmer who had infinite faith in god accompanied by lack of humanity. He was a greedy man because even after receiving 70 pesos he was ungrateful for his helper, the postmaster. Instead he blamed the postmaster of taking his rest of 30 pesos and also called the postmaster and other employees a bunch of crooks.
