i dont understand compare the victorian period to modern day life like in christmas carol essay

When you're getting ready to write a comparison essay, you need to do some brainstorming and careful planning first.

1. Make a list of everything you find SIMILAR in both "The Christmas Carol" and in modern-day life.

2. Once you do that, you'll be ready to isolate 3 or 4 items on your list that you believe are important similarities (not just any ol' similarities).

3. Skip the introduction for now, and write a really good paragraph for each of the 3 or 4 similarities you choose to focus on. What are they? How are they similar in the 180-some years since the story was written. Why do you think each of these is important?

4. A thesis statement should be forming in your mind as you do your brainstorming and rough-drafting. This is a sentence that states your main idea and your opinion about it.

5. THEN write an introduction with the thesis statement at the end of it.

6. Add the intro to the rest of the essay draft and start editing and refining.

7. Write your conclusion, and then refine some more and proofread carefully.
