In an isosceles trapezoid the length of a diagonal is 25 cm and the length of an altitude is 15 cm. Find the area of the trapezoid.

you need the bases first.

draw the sketch. label the top base a, the bottom c.
now notice on c, it is longer than a by 2*k, where k is the length of the base below end triangles.

Pyth: (c-k)^2=25^2-15^2
or c-k=20cm
but c=a+2K

Now the median length:
median=(a+c)/2=(c-2k+c)/2
=2c-2k=2(c-k)=20cm

area=median*height=20cm*15cm
=300cm^2

check my math.

You are correct, the answer is 300cm^2

You are correct. Thank you.

Do you think you could attach a labeled diagram? That would be greatly helpful.

Hey man I got to get that 100

You know he is right

Ok listen, I know some people literally look up answers without even trying and that’s wrong. But I do RSM, and try 2-3 times while checking my work. Mind you I only look up answers on homework’s NEVER in class when I have the teacher to literally help me. If I don’t understand it on my own I look it up to help me and explain it, if I understand it I write it down to help me. Lol thanks for reading ig. Also what grade y’all in?

I did this:

Pythagreon: (c-k)^2=25^2-15^2
or c-k=20cm
but c=a+2K

Area
area=median*height=20cm*15cm
=300cm^2

Ok, but that was such a torturing long essay....I mean no one would type that much even for MCAS!! AND Imcool If u think u r soooo smart that u dont need to use this stuff then why did u search this question in the first place? and u say shame on us?!?

ALSO, this question is part of homework not a test.

U GUYS ARE SEARCHING UP RUSSIAN MATH FINAL TEST QUESTIONS SHAME ON YOU
